Ákotaka spoke before the Buddha in praise of various teachers of other schools:

• Pakuddha-Kátiyána (sic.),

• Nigantha

• Makkhali

• Púrana.

Vetambari made rejoinder to Ákotaka, speaking disparagingly of the teachers he had mentioned. S.i.65.
