A Sákiyan prince, son of Dígháyu and, therefore, cousin of Ummáda-Cittá. Having heard of Cittá, he went to Upatissagáma and took service at the court of Panduvásudeva.

 

There Cittá saw him and fell in love with him and he visited her by night. When a child was conceived Citta was given to him in marriage.

 

This child was Pandukábhaya. Citta and Kálavela were servants of Díghagámaní. Mhv.ix.13ff; Dpv.x.8f.
