1. Kakkata.-An eminent monk mentioned, with Cála, Upacála, Kalimbha, Nikata and Katissaha, as staying with the Buddha at the Kútágárasálá in Vesáli. When the Licchavis started coming there to pay their respects to the Buddha, the monks, desiring solitude, went into the woodlands near by, such as the Gosingasálavana. A.v.133f.
2. Kakkata.-A lay disciple of Nádiká (Ñatiká) mentioned with several others (S.v.138). He is evidently identical with Kakudha (1).
