1. Mahánágavana. An open space in Ceylon, on the banks of the Maháválukagangá. It was three yojanas long and one wide and was the meeting place of the Yakkhas. The Buddha went there on his first visit to Ceylon, and in it was later built the Mahiyangana Thúpa. Mhv.i.22f.


2. Mahánágavana. A park near Anurádhapura. It was there that the relics brought by Sumana for the Thúpárama were first received by Devánampiyatissa. Mhv.xvii.7, 22f.
