Various devaputtas -  followers of different teachers -  come to the Buddha and sing the praises of their respective teachers -

• Asama the praises of Purana Kassapa,
• Sahalj of Makkhali Gosála;
• Ninka of Nigantha Nátaputta and
• Akotaka of all three.

Vetambarí makes rejoinder to Akotaka and Mára agrees with him, while Mánava-Gámiya sings the Buddha's praises. S.i.65ff.
