An arahant. In the time of Vipassí Buddha he was a cakkaváka dwelling on the banks of the river Sindhu. One day, seeing the Buddha travelling through the air, the bird offered him a sála flower in its beak.
Seventeen kappas ago he was king eighteen times under the name of Sucárudassana (Ap.i.113).
He is probably identical with Punnamása Thera. ThagA.i.53f.
