An arahant. Eighteen kappas ago he met the Buddha Atthadassí and gave him a pilakkha fruit (Ap.i.296, repeated at Ap.ii.410).
His Apadána verses are, in the Theragáthá Commentary, attributed both to Dhammapála (ThagA.i.326) and to Passika (ThagA.i.355).
There may have been two of the same name.
