A village in the Dakkhinadesa of Ceylon, where Mánábharana lived under the name of Virabáhu (Cv.lxi.26) and where Parakkamabáhu I. was born (Ibid., lxxii.18). Parakkamabáhu subsequently erected there the Sútigharacetiya, one hundred and eighty feet high, on the site of the house in which he was born. Ibid., lxxix.61.
