The Buddha addresses the monks in the Migadáya at Isipatana and tells them how he had first preached the Four Noble Truths there. He exhorts them to follow Sáriputta and Moggallána, and then retires to his cell.
Sáriputta takes up the discourse and gives a detailed explanation of the Truths. M.iii.248 52.
This sutta is incorporated in the concluding portion of the Mahásatipatthána Sutta.
