ÚÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ¿ ³Anapana-Sati ³ ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ Mindfulness of In-and-out breathing, is one of the most important exercises for reaching mental concentration and the four absorptions. Nowadays different instructors on meditation, give different interpretations to this technique of calming the mind, and this is also used as a stepping stone for Insight-meditation. In the Satipatthana Sutta (ie. discourse on the Foundations of mindfulness) and elsewhere, four methods of practice are given which may also serve as basis for Insight meditation. (ie. Vipassana- Bhavana).
