A.  The Buddha in his wisdom did not give a finite answer to this 'infinite'
    question.
    All he is reputed to have said was that.. His main teaching is regarding
    the suffering caused by birth, life, decay and death and a path to end
    this suffering (dukkha). It is profitless to spend effort in knowing
    the origin of this Universe which is beginning-less and end-less both
    in the time and space domains.
