A vihára built by King Súratissa to the east of Anurádhapura and near Dahegallaka (Mhv.xxi.60).
According to the Mahávamsa Tíka (MT.424), Devánampiyatissa had also built an Acchavihára to the south of the city, and in order that one might be distinguished from the other, Súratissa's work was called Purimáyacchagallaka.
It was there that Vattágamani Abhaya held a festival in honour of the Buddha with the help of the Thera Mahátissa of Kuppikkala. Mhv.xxxiii.67-8.
