The name of a miracle (pátiháriya). It enables all beings, from the Akanitthá world above to Avíci below, to see each other, because the whole universe is illuminated. It is also called Lokappasádaka or Lokappasádana (BuA.40; MT. 226f. confines it to this world only).
It was performed by Sáriputta in honour of the Buddha, before the preaching of the Buddhavamsa (Bu.i.47), and again by the arahants, led by Indagutta, to enable Dhammásoka to see simultaneously the celebrations held at the dedication of his eighty four thousand viháras. Mhv.v.188; MT. 226f.
