The mother of Síhabáhu and Síhasívalí was a Vanga princess, the daughter of the Vanga king who had married the daughter of the king of Kalinga (Mhv.vi.1ff.; Dpv.ix.2).
The Milinda (p. 359) mentions Vanga as a trading place to be reached by sea.
