96. “Padumuttaro nāma jino, sabbadhammesu cakkhumā;
ito satasahassamhi, kappe uppajji nāyako.
97. “Yathāpi sāgare ūmi, gagane viya tārakā;
evaṃ pāvacanaṃ tassa, arahantehi cittitaṃ.
98. “Sadevāsuranāgehi, manujehi purakkhato;
samaṇabrāhmaṇākiṇṇe, janamajjhe jinuttamo.
99. “Pabhāhi anurañjanto, loke [lokaṃ (sī.)] lokantagū jino;
vacanena vibodhento, veneyyapadumāni so.
100. “Vesārajjehi sampanno, catūhi purisuttamo;
pahīnabhayasārajjo, khemappatto visārado.
101. “Āsabhaṃ pavaraṃ ṭhānaṃ, buddhabhūmiñca kevalaṃ;
paṭijānāti lokaggo, natthi sañcodako kvaci.
102. “Sīhanādamasambhītaṃ, nadato tassa tādino;
devo naro vā brahmā vā, paṭivattā na vijjati.
103. “Desento pavaraṃ dhammaṃ, santārento sadevakaṃ;
dhammacakkaṃ pavatteti, parisāsu visārado.
104. “Paṭibhānavataṃ aggaṃ, sāvakaṃ sādhusammataṃ;
guṇaṃ bahuṃ pakittetvā, etadagge ṭhapesi taṃ.
105. “Tadāhaṃ haṃsavatiyaṃ, brāhmaṇo sādhusammato;
sabbavedavidū jāto, vāgīso vādisūdano.
106. “Upecca taṃ mahāvīraṃ, sutvāhaṃ dhammadesanaṃ;
pītivaraṃ paṭilabhiṃ, sāvakassa guṇe rato.
107. “Nimantetvāva sugataṃ, sasaṅghaṃ lokanandanaṃ;
sattāhaṃ bhojayitvāhaṃ, dussehacchādayiṃ tadā.
108. “Nipacca sirasā pāde, katokāso katañjalī;
ekamantaṃ ṭhito haṭṭho, santhaviṃ jinamuttamaṃ.
109. “‘Namo te vādimaddana [vādisaddula (sī. pī.), vādisūdana (syā.)], namo te isisattama [purisuttama (sī. pī.)];
namo te sabbalokagga, namo te abhayaṅkara.
110. “‘Namo te māramathana [māramasana (aṭṭha.)], namo te diṭṭhisūdana;
namo te santisukhada, namo te saraṇaṅkara.
111. “‘Anāthānaṃ bhavaṃ nātho, bhītānaṃ abhayappado;
vissāmabhūmi [vissāsaṃ bhūmi (syā.), vissānabhūmi (pī.)] santānaṃ, saraṇaṃ saraṇesinaṃ’.
112. “Evamādīhi sambuddhaṃ, santhavitvā mahāguṇaṃ;
avocaṃ vādisūdassa [vādisūrassa (sī. syā. pī.)], gatiṃ pappomi bhikkhuno.
113. “Tadā avoca bhagavā, anantapaṭibhānavā;
‘yo so buddhaṃ abhojesi, sattāhaṃ sahasāvakaṃ.
114. “‘Guṇañca me pakittesi, pasanno sehi pāṇibhi;
eso patthayate ṭhānaṃ, vādisūdassa bhikkhuno.
115. “‘Anāgatamhi addhāne, lacchase taṃ manorathaṃ;
devamānusasampattiṃ, anubhotvā anappakaṃ.
116. “‘Satasahassito kappe, okkākakulasambhavo;
gotamo nāma gottena, satthā loke bhavissati.
117. “‘Tassa dhammesu dāyādo, oraso dhammanimmito;
vaṅgīso nāma nāmena, hessati satthu sāvako’.
118. “Taṃ sutvā mudito hutvā, yāvajīvaṃ tadā jinaṃ;
paccayehi upaṭṭhāsiṃ, mettacitto tathāgataṃ.
119. “Tena kammena sukatena, cetanāpaṇidhīhi ca;
jahitvā mānusaṃ dehaṃ, tusitaṃ [tāvatiṃsaṃ (syā.)] agamāsahaṃ.
120. “Pacchime ca bhave dāni, jāto vippakule [paribbājakule (sī. syā. pī.)] ahaṃ;
paccājāto [sampatto ca (ka.)] yadā āsiṃ, jātiyā sattavassiko.
121. “Sabbavedavidū jāto, vādasatthavisārado;
vādissaro [vaggussaro (syā. pī.)] cittakathī, paravādappamaddano.
122. “Vaṅge jātoti vaṅgīso, vacane issaroti vā;
vaṅgīso iti me nāmaṃ, abhavī lokasammataṃ.
123. “Yadāhaṃ viññutaṃ patto, ṭhito paṭhamayobbane;
tadā rājagahe ramme, sāriputtamahaddasaṃ [mathaddasaṃ (sī. pī.), ca addasaṃ (syā.)].

124. “Piṇḍāya vicarantaṃ taṃ, pattapāṇiṃ susaṃvutaṃ;
alolakkhiṃ mitabhāṇiṃ, yugamattaṃ nidakkhitaṃ [nirikkhataṃ (sī. pī.), udikkhataṃ (syā.)].
125. “Taṃ disvā vimhito hutvā, avocaṃ mamanucchavaṃ [mananucchavaṃ (sī. syā.)];
kaṇikāraṃva nicitaṃ [kaṇikāraparicitaṃ (pī.), khaṇikaṃ ṭhānaracitaṃ (sī.)], cittaṃ gāthāpadaṃ ahaṃ.
126. “Ācikkhi so me satthāraṃ, sambuddhaṃ lokanāyakaṃ;
tadā so paṇḍito vīro, uttariṃ [uttaraṃ (sī. pī.)] samavoca me.
127. “Virāgasaṃhitaṃ vākyaṃ, katvā duddasamuttamaṃ;
vicittapaṭibhānehi, tosito tena tādinā.
128. “Nipacca sirasā pāde, ‘pabbājehī’ti maṃ bravi;
tato maṃ sa mahāpañño, buddhaseṭṭhamupānayi.
129. “Nipacca sirasā pāde, nisīdiṃ satthu santike;
mamāha vadataṃ seṭṭho, kacci vaṅgīsa jānāsi [saccaṃ vaṅgīsa kacci te (syā.)].
130. “Kiñci sippanti tassāhaṃ, ‘jānāmī’ti ca abraviṃ;
matasīsaṃ vanacchuddhaṃ, api bārasavassikaṃ.
Tava vijjāvisesena, sace sakkosi vācaya [bhāsaya (sī. pī.)].
131. “Āmoti me paṭiññāte, tīṇi sīsāni dassayi;
nirayanaradevesu, upapanne avācayiṃ.
132. “Tadā khīṇāsavasseva [paccekabuddhassa (sī. pī.)], sīsaṃ dassesi nāyako;
tatohaṃ vihatārabbho, pabbajjaṃ samayācisaṃ.
133. “Pabbajitvāna sugataṃ, santhavāmi tahiṃ tahiṃ;
tato maṃ kabbavittosi [kavicittoti (syā. pī.)], ujjhāyantiha bhikkhavo.
134. “Tato vīmaṃsanatthaṃ me, āha buddho vināyako;
takkikā panimā gāthā, ṭhānaso paṭibhanti taṃ.
135. “Na kabbavittohaṃ vīra, ṭhānaso paṭibhanti maṃ;
tena hi dāni vaṅgīsa, ṭhānaso santhavāhi maṃ.
136. “Tadāhaṃ santhaviṃ vīraṃ, gāthāhi isisattamaṃ;
ṭhānaso me tadā tuṭṭho, jino agge ṭhapesi maṃ.
137. “Paṭibhānena cittena, aññesamatimaññahaṃ;
pesale tena saṃviggo, arahattamapāpuṇiṃ.
138. “‘Paṭibhānavataṃ aggo, añño koci na vijjati;
yathāyaṃ bhikkhu vaṅgīso, evaṃ dhāretha bhikkhavo’.
139. “Satasahasse kataṃ kammaṃ, phalaṃ dassesi me idha;
sumutto saravegova kilese jhāpayiṃ mama.
140. “Kilesā jhāpitā mayhaṃ…pe… viharāmi anāsavo;
141. “svāgataṃ vata me āsi…pe… kataṃ buddhassa sāsanaṃ;
142. “paṭisambhidā catasso…pe… kataṃ buddhassa sāsanaṃ”;
