A Gift of the Dhamma

All of the publications on this site are provided as a gift of the Dhamma (dhammadāna) for the welfare and happiness of anyone and everyone. You are invited to read them or print them out for your own use without any charge or obligation. To support the Association, send donations to the Treasurer.

The webmaster believes that the views expressed in these publications are in accordance with the teachings of the Buddha. Though he would be pleased to know of any errors, he does wish to debate with readers who hold opposing views. The Buddha advised that one should test his teaching as one would test gold before buying it. The original Pāli texts and many translations of the suttas quoted can be found from the Links page.

Printed Copies

I give printed copies of the booklets on the website to people that I meet. I am not able to provide free booklets for everyone who visits my website, but you can obtain a PDF file of the original booklet. From the PDF file you can easily make your personal copy on your own printer. N.B. All booklets are formatted for A4 paper with margins of 0.3” or 0.25” in a few cases. PDF files were tested on a laser printer. If your printer has larger minimum margins, you may have to scale the printout down to fit the paper.

The booklets are formatted as A6 booklets on A4 pages, i.e four pages to a sheet. All you have to do is:

  • Print the cover page (in colour, or on coloured paper or card if you wish)
  • Print the odd pages
  • Print the even pages in reverse order on the back of the odd pages
  • Lay the sheets together carefully, and cut the sheets in half using the crop marks on the cover
  • Collate the pages (by stacking the top half on the bottom half)
  • Staple the sheets together, and
  • Trim the edges.

It takes only five or ten minutes to do this, and you can make as many booklets as you want for about 25p each for a 24 page booklet.

Note that the booklets should not be sold, but titles by Bhikkhu Pesala can be given away free without any further permission. To distribute other books, please seek permission from the authors.

Graphics and fonts are embedded in the PDF file, so everything should be exactly the same as the original booklets, with correct accents on Pāli words. If you spot any errors, or have trouble printing from the PDFs, please let me know at once so that I can update the file. Email: pesala@aimwell.org
